Bathroom Update- 9/26/12

Getting down to the wire!  
We made lots of progress this past weekend:

• installed the shower curtain rod 
• installed both sets of lights, including the fan (with the help of our very kind neighbor!)

I love that you can't really tell the fixture is a fan!

These used to point down,
but I wanted more room for the mirror.
It should look more balanced this way!

• painted the door

• fixed the window sill (a chunk of wood was missing from where the old vanity cut in front of it)

• purchased & installed plantation shutters to the window- thrilled that these were on clearance for $17!

• purchased the mirror & brought the vanity into the room.  

The vanity is going to be the tricky party- new holes needed to be drilled in the floor & in the vanity base to run the pipes.  
We're working on that this week...  

Here's the updated To Do list:

By July 15th:
Purchase wainscoting, drywall & wall board Complete!
Purchase sink/vanity & toilet Complete!
Purchase new light/fan, white outlets & switches Complete!
Run electric from basement to attic (prep for finishing attic rooms) Complete!
Secure pex & wire to inside foyer wall (had run out of brackets) Complete!
Complete PVC caps on old pipes in basement Complete!
Finish stack in the foyer & insulate heating pipes  Complete!
Complete install of vent pipe in bathroom & attic  Complete! 

By July 22nd:
Purchase shower/tub fixtures, shower curtain rod Complete!
Tar paper & waterproof shower/tub Complete!
Install wall board to shower/tub Complete!
Install new outlets & light switches Complete!
Rip out old vinyl floor   Complete! 
Level joists  Complete!  
Install new sub-floor  Not Needed!
Take down mirror  Complete! 
Install drywall to walls -  Complete! 

By August 5th:
Purchase tile, grout & supplies  Complete!   
Purchase sink fixtures Complete!  
Purchase molding pieces  Complete!  
Tape joints    Complete!  
Spackle & sand  Complete!   

By August 12th:
Purchase wood flooring-  Complete!
Borrow tile cutter Complete!
Install tile around shower/tub Complete!  
Purchase paint/supplies  Complete!   
Install shower/tub fixtures Complete! 

By September 2nd:
Paint wainscoting pieces-  Complete!  
Install wood floor- Complete! 
Install door & window molding -  Complete!   
Install wainscoting -  Complete!   
Install toe moldings- Complete!  
Install crown molding- decided against, seemed like too many moldings

By September 16th:
Paint walls & moldings- Complete!   
Install shower curtain rod- Complete!
Install new fan/light - Complete! 

By September 23rd: (let's make it 9/29!)
Purchase Mirror- Complete!  
Install vanity- Started!
Install sink fixtures
Install toilet
Install light fixtures- Complete!   
Purchase & Install face plates (Lowe's didn't have the ones we wanted in stock- BOO!)

By October 1st:
Finishing touches & decorating in bathroom

By October 8th: 
(giving ourselves an extra week on this part!  Too much other stuff going on during the next few weekends!)
Install drywall to foyer ceiling & walls
