It's Electric!

Our next step in the Attic Project is running the electric.
We didn't want to DIY this- better to leave it to the experts!
And while we had the experts in, we decided to throw in a few other little electrical projects.

Before the electricians arrived, Mike had a lot of  prep work to do:

-Pull up the attic floor boards so electricians can have full access, but still walk around up there...
Here nails have been removed, but boards are
still in place so they could work up there.

-Remove the radiator & mess of old light attached to a board, since it's right in the way of the existing junction box... also, remove some of the patchworked wall boards to the left of the doorway, so that light switch can be installed.
BEFORE
AFTER

-Install some framing for the ceiling fan & pendant lights to be attached...
The framing will also be needed for
attaching the sheetrock.
Here's the list of what the electricians are going to do:

-Install box and ceiling light/fan
-Install 2 boxes pendant lights
-Install lights under eaves (where storage areas will be)

-Install light switch at bottom of attic stairs (to go with top of stairs switch)
-Move hall box and install new fixture
